Persepolis is a 2007 French  animated film based on the autobiographical graphic novel writen by Marjane Satrapi with the same name. The film was directed by Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud. From the beginning, the animation atracted a lot of controversy and was initially banned in Lebanon, Thailand and Iran.

The film is available in English, French, Persian and German, but go ahead and see it in French.
